Moreno announces challenge for State Representative 45

Tennyson Moreno announced his campaign for State Representative House District 45 as a Republican last week. Erin Zwiener is the current State Representative for Texas House District 45.

In August, Tennyson, who is a student at Texas State University, announced his bid for County Commissioner Precinct 3 seat. He said that when it was clear that race would have several qualified candidates, Tennyson made the decision to switch races.

“I am running for the Texas House of Representatives to protect families, neighborhoods and our conservative principles in Hays County,” Tennyson said. “High cost of living, and high crime rates are major issues. We need smart, safe, and sustainable solutions to our problems.”

According to the original press release sent in August, Tennyson attends Texas State University and is a graduate of the Tarrant County College’s Professional Pilot & Flight Science Program. He is a licensed pilot and the Vice-Chair of the Airport Advisory Board for San Marcos Regional Airport. He is a volunteer at the Commemorative Air Force and is the Chair of the Hays County Young Republicans.

Moreno is the only candidate filed in the Republican Primary Election for Texas House District 45. On the Democratic side, Zwiener has filed as well as local attorney Chevo Pastrano.

The Primary Elections will be held on March 5.
