Over 60% of Hays County residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while more than 22,000 have received an additional vaccine dose.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, 130,167 Hays County residents are considered fully vaccinated as of Monday — 60.45% of 215,309 eligible residents who are at least 5 years old. The DSHS also stated that 151,801 residents have received one COVID-19 vaccine dose — 70.5%. Additionally, 2,889 county residents received an additional vaccine dose between Nov. 15 and Nov. 22. The DSHS states 22,335 Hays County citizens have received an additional vaccine dose as of Monday.
Additional data shows that 83,646 Hays County residents who are fully vaccinated fall into the 16-49-year-old age range, 30,631 are between 50-64 years old, 21,898 are 65-79 years old, 8,057 are 12-15 years old, 4,815 are 80 years old and older, 2,710 are between ages 5 and 11, and 51 have an unknown age, according the DSHS.
