Saenz, Jr., is charged with murder

The Hays County Sheriff's Office reported Wednesday that Ray Robert Saenz, Jr., was charged with murder-F1, following an investigation by the San Marcos Police Department after a man was found deceased on Sept. 30.

According to police, Saenz was taken into custody in Austin Tuesday by members of the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

Police stated that Saenz was brought to San Marcos and booked, later appearing before a Hays County justice of the peace and received a cash/surety bond of $750,000, in connection to the what police allege is the murder of Nathaniel Lamart Hudson, 41, no address listed.

Saenz, Jr., is currently being held in the Hays County Jail.

According to a city of San Marcos press release Tuesday, the San Marcos Police Department worked with and thanked members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, the Austin Police Department, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, Hays County Crime Stoppers, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers for their assistance in bringing Saenz into custody.

Police stated that on Sept. 30, officers responded to a call at an apartment complex off of State Highway 123 in the vicinity of Redwood Road and Old Bastrop Road.

There officers found Hudson deceased.

Police stated that at the scene were shell casings and other evidence that pointed to shots having been fired in the apartment.

Police identified the victim on Sunday, Oct. 1, as Hudson. As of time of press, there is no further information available regarding the alleged murder.

The San Marcos Police Department stated earlier that the investigation into Hudson's death is continuing.
