San Marcos Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution award local students with National Defense medals

The San Marcos Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently awarded local students with National Defense medals, offering scholarships to the Gold Medal winners. These medals are presented to cadets who, in the judgment of their military instructors, have performed their military studies in an outstanding manner. The winners were as follows:

•Cadet Ariana Wilkinson, from Texas State University/Air Force, received the DAR Gold ROTC Medal.

•Cadet Devyn Grant from Texas State University/Air Force received the DAR Outstanding Cadet Silver Medal.

•April Niles, from Texas State University/Army, received the DAR Gold ROTC Medal.

•Megan Ombres from Texas State University/Army received the DAR Outstanding Cadet Silver Medal.

•Megan Seaton, from San Marcos High School received the DAR Bronze JROTC Medal.

•Breanna Eliaz, from San Marcos High School, received the Good Citizenship Medal.

•Cadet Captain Celeste Cordova, from San Marcos Academy, received the DAR Bronze JROTC Medal.

•Victoria Polhemus, from San Marcos Academy, received the DAR Good Citizenship medal.
