Water line break causes boil notice for Maxwell Water Supply Corp. customers

Tuesday, June 18, 2019

A water line break caused Maxwell Water Supply Corp. to issue a water boil notice for all its customers Saturday night.

The boil notice has affected San Marcos residents living in Saddlebrook (Sun Communities), North Point Subdivisión, Harris Hill Road, Blanco River Walk and Post Road.

Maxwell Water Supply asks that all its customers boil water before consumption. Children, seniors and persons with weakened immune systems are vulnerable to harmful bacteria in water and all customers should follow the notice to ensure that all bacteria and other microbes are destroyed, the corporation said in its notice.

Justin Ivicic, Maxwell Water Supply Corp. general manager, said Monday that the boil could be lifted as early as today.

“We took a sample this morning and this test takes 24 hours so they’ll try to grow a bacteria in that sample and if it comes back negative we’ll rescind the notice,” Ivicic said.

Maxwell Water Supply will notify its customers as soon as there is no longer a need to boil water.
