San Marcos again rolled to another victory as the Rattlers defeated the Converse Judson Rockets for the 10-1 win.

With the win, the Rattlers improved their record to 21-9-1 overall and have swept the three game series against Rockets.

Following a scoreless first inning, San Marcos got the ball rolling in the second inning with a lead single by outfielder Ryan Hix who then advanced to second after a throwing error by Judson.

Hix then scored after another error by Judson on a Dylan Nuez ground ball giving the Rattlers a 1-0 lead.

Following a walk by catcher Sunray Estrada, the Rockets recorded their first out of the inning with a flyout into left field.

San Marcos responded by drawing a walk courtesy of second baseman Dallas Calderon to load the bases.

Kutter Gage Webb then scored a run by also drawing a walk to give the Rattlers a 2-0 lead.

After a popup to center field, outfielder Major Pellien earned the walk to first base the hard way after being hit by the pitch to score another run as San Marcos extended the lead to 3-0.

Calderon then scored from third base on a wild pitch to make it 4-0 before first baseman Stephen Wilder drew the walk to load the bases again.

Going through the entire lineup, Hix reached base again, only this time reaching it on a dropped third strike which allowed Webb to score, as the Rattlers extended the inning and made the score 6-0.

Nunez drew another walk to score a run before the Rockets recorded the final out.

But the damage was already done as San Marcos took a commanding 7-0 lead.

After a scoreless inning by the Rattler defense, San Marcos once again loaded the bases with Designated Hitter Gavin Gomez getting a walk, a Judson error and a single into center field by Webb.

Next, outfielder Reagan Chomel drew the walk to allow Gomez to score as the Rattlers went up 8-0.

Following a flyout into center field, Landon Munoz, pinch running for Chomel, added another run by taking home plate to make it 9-0.

Wilder knocked in Webb for the run on a RBI single into left field as San Marcos took a commanding 10-0 lead.

Though the Rockets were able to score a run back in the bottom of the third inning, it wasn’t enough as San Marcos cruised to the 10-1 win.

On defense, Ripp Soto got the start on the mound throwing three innings while allowing just one hit, three walks, one run and recording three strikeouts.

Coming in for relief was pitcher Vlario Prado who also threw three innings.

Prado picked up where Soto left off allowing just one hit, no walks, no runs and throwing a team high three strikeouts.

Caleb Gomez closed out the game for the Rattlers in the seventh inning and allowed just one hit, one walk, no runs and throwing two strikeouts.

Combined the trio allowed just three hits, three walks and only run.

San Marcos returns to play this Friday as the Rattlers look to sweep the rival New Braunfels Unicorns in the final regular season home game of the season.

First pitch is at 7 p.m. in San Marcos.
