City officials announced Thursday that due to the repeated failures of large diameter limbs, the presence of multiple stems arising from one point and damage from winter storm Uri, the city has decided to remove the large ash tree located at the intersection of Hopkins Street and Riverside Drive on Friday. Motorists should exercise caution in this area throughout the day as crews work to take down the tree.
