The Sacred Springs Kite Exhibition will be on display at the San Marcos Public Library until Sept. 30. The kites will be unveiled at a ceremony at 6 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. The exhibition will show the work of multiple San Marcos artists and highlight the springs of Central Texas.

Sacred Springs Kite Exhibition comes to the library

The Hays County Commissioners Court in its Tuesday meeting highlighted the work of first responders by proclamation and brought attention to a drug crisis facing many Texas communities: fentanyl.

Utility commission chair raises threat of summer power outages

Public Utility Commission Chair Peter Lake on Wednesday warned that Texas’ main power grid is at risk for outages this summer if wind turbines don’t produce enough electricity when it’s needed. He yet again made the case that more on-demand power sources, such as natural-gas-fueled power plants or batteries, need to be built to make the grid more reliable.

Students from the Gary Job Corps Carpentry Trade are building a patio to assist the veterans with a BBQ area to show appreciation for our veterans. AMVETS will soon be celebrating their 10-year anniversary, and are advocates for veterans, such as VA claim filing assistance, employment, Veterans Court, and counseling. They collect items and send them to the troops in oversea assignments, in addition to assisting local veterans. AMVETS of Texas proudly provides support to veterans in America, open to all current and past veterans.
