The Bobcats were back on the gridiron after their exciting 50-36 win over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles as Texas State entered the week with the best start to a season since joining FBS and first 4-1 start since the legendary 2005 season.
Ayo Okoya-Thomas runs for the end-zone in the Bears game against Calvert. Okoya-Thomas caught five passes for 105 yards and four touchdowns in Academy’s 52-55 loss to Calvert.

San Marcos Academy’s comeback fell short Friday as the Bears were defeated by the Calvert Trojans, 6255.

San Marcos was back in the win column as the Rattlers defeated the Converse Judson Rockets 3-0 (25-13, 25-5, 25-20) for the first district win of the season.
Running back Ismail Mahdi accounted for four total touchdowns, including a opening 100-yard kickoff return in the Bobcats 50-36 win over Southern Miss.

Despite giving up 26 unanswered points in the second half, Texas State nabbed their first conference win of the season , with a 50-36 victory over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles.
The San Marcos High School Cross Country team made the out of state trip over the weekend to compete at the Chile Pepper Festival held in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

I enjoy seeing posts on social media of local runners at races they have run. It made me think about my running days and the races I entered over the years. The posts came from different races in towns and cities throughout the United States. I started to wonder how far a runner would travel to enter a race. It is an easy entry if the race is in San Marcos. This past Saturday the Blue Santa’s 5 Miler and 5K race was held out at the soccer fields. Next Saturday, September 30th, the Kiwanis Pumpkin Dash 5K will be held out at Country Estates. This is a popular race with not a large entry number so the prospect of winning an award is good.
