Bobcat football great Mathis has Hall of Fame shot

Two-time All-American and Texas State record holder Claude Mathis was named to the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame Ballot as the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame released the complete list of names early Monday.

I received a text message on my phone from Darrell Rhodes earlier this week. He wanted me to look over a draft of the entry form for the Camp Ben 5K race he was planning. He just wanted some advice to make sure he had not missed any information. I read over the entry form and noticed the fee for the race seemed unusual.

It was a successful year for San Marcos High School as multiple teams and athletes either qualified for the playoffs, won gold trophies or won gold medals. Football, Volleyball, Boys Basketball, Girls Soccer and Baseball teams all qualified for the playoffs with Boys Basketball and Baseball winning the District Championships. Five individuals athletes were able to qualify for their respective State Meets in Power-lifting, Wrestling and Track & Field. Congratulations on all Rattler Athletes for representing San Marcos with honor and pride.

Bobcats season comes to end at the Sun Belt Tournament

The Texas State baseball team saw their season come to an end as the Bobcats fell to the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns in an elimination game 12-6.
