Grone win’s VFW Post 3413 Award
Maurice T. Suttles VFW Auxiliary President Bernie Adams gave out the 1st Place Patriotic Art Award on Saturday. Patriotic Art winner Anastacia (Ana) Grone was given $300 for 1st place at VFW Post 3413. Grone also won 3rd place at District 5 and walked away with another $100. Grone wanted to give her art painting to Max Vasquez, who called Grone his angel. Grone went up to him while he was eating dinner at a restaurant in New Braunfels and held out her hand to “Thank him for his Service.” That turned his life around. After Grone was presented her Certificates for Post 3413 and District 5, she in turn gave her picture of Max to Max Vasquez. Max in turn gave Ana a canvas of one of Ronald Reagan quotes on, an original patch from when the Texas Capitol Vietnam Veterans Monument was placed in Austin and one of his purple heart medals. 08/02/2020 04:00 AM
