Why is this story #2?
Before the historic First Responder Bowl, this was the game that sent Texas State into the history books. Taking on Georgia Southern, the Bobcats defeated the Eagles 45-24 to cross the sixwin mark for the first time since 2014 to become bowl eligible. The win was the first time Texas State had defeated Georgia Southern since the 2005 win when the Bobcats knocked off the Eagles in the first round of the FCS Playoffs. Texas State President Kelly Damhousse made a promise that the first time the Bobcats reached six wins he would jump in to the river, which he kept as he was followed by the Director Athletics Don Coryell, Head Coach G.J. Kinne and the majority of the Bobcat Football Team. 01/02/2024 05:00 AM
