KZSM Giving and Receiving Tonight and All Year Round
For this holiday season, we at KZSM 104.1 FM and KZSm.org have done our best to create gifts for the community we serve. Veteran DJ Metal Mark Moniz began his fifth annual toy drive back in November, and by December 15 we delivered a truckload of toys to the Southside Community Center for the families they do so much to serve. We provided a soundtrack for the 5K Jingle Bell Run, with strategically placed jeeps blasting our signal to encourage the runners. On “Bookmarked,” we celebrated a Christmas classic with a live dramatization of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” complete with sound effects. Some of our broadcasts, like our blues and Reggae shows, feature holiday specials you might not expect, and we offer an eclectic selection of Christmas music throughout the holiday week.

History of the NAU Cross Country Team
I had mentioned a few weeks ago about getting the book ‘Running Up The Mountain’ about the success of the Northern Arizona University cross country team. I had an interest because the team started up when a teammate of mine in football and track became the head coach in 1964. I was there for four of those start up years as the wrestling coach and professor in physical education. The book continues on through the years, right up to 2022 about the different runners that made the team so successful. It goes into the personality of the runners and the training methods they followed.

Eggnog is a rich and delicious beverage that has become synonymous with the most festive time of year. This milk- and egg-based concoction is tasty on its own, or it can be dressed up with other flavors and spiked with a favorite spirit when celebrating the holiday season with other adult partygoers.

'When life gives you lemons, make Lemonade,' When life gives you drought make it better with art
That is what Lisa Arceneaux, an environmental engineer in San Marcos Texas thought about adding a rainwater collection cistern to a spot in her yard where no bushes would grow, and the rain off the house splattered mud on the walls.
