Irasema “Sema” Hernandez is a 2018 Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. Senate for the state of Texas. Hernandez is a resident of Houston and is a daughter of immigrants. She is married with children and is a small business owner as well as a baseball coach and community volunteer. Hernandez worked in the healthcare industry for six years before attending college to obtain an Associate of Science in nursing degree.
