Art Squared on the courthouse lawn

Friday, August 10, 2018

The Art Squared Arts Market will be the hottest place in town this Saturday. Sponsored by the San Marcos Art League, the market features local and regional artists exhibiting and selling their handmade works. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the Hays County Courthouse lawn. Admission is always free.

Along with seeing dozens of artists and their works, including this month’s featured artist Kathryn Welch, people can take a free yoga class in the morning and enjoy live music by JusTif from 1 to 3 p.m.

Art Squared takes place on the second Saturday of every month between March and December. It is sponsored by the San Marcos Art League and funded through memberships, donations and the San Marcos Arts Commission.

The Mermaid Society of Texas has been vital in promoting San Marcos as a creative and vibrant community. Celebrating our town’s arts, culture and heritage, and fostering river guardianship, the Mermaid Society’s mission is to be a catalyst for creative collaboration, promotion civic engagement, and inspiring connection for the overall good and future well-being of San Marcos.
