Local restaurant manager receives national recognition
Matt Turgeon, general manager of the Olive Garden in San Marcos, has achieved Diamond Club status, the top honor at parent company Darden Restaurants. He was recognized this year for his commitment to delivering guest experiences at the highest level, while making a difference in the lives of guests and team members, as well as in his community.
“Matt welcomes every guest and team member that comes through his restaurant doors like family,” President of Olive Garden Dan Kiernan said. “His passion for creating a vibrant, engaging team member culture make him an incredible asset to both the San Marcos community and our Olive Garden family.”
This year, Turgeon joins an elite group of 44 general managers selected from the more than 850 Olive Garden restaurants in North America, making this a truly exclusive honor.
Turgeon attributes his professional success to his team’s focus on Olive Garden’s culture.
The San Marcos Olive Garden opened in April 2017. It is a 7,500-square-foot restaurant that accommodates more than 250 guests and was estimated to create more than 160 new jobs for the surrounding community. The San Marcos Olive Garden is located at 1305 S. Interstate 35.
