The friends and family of Crystal River Inn and Spa will be serving lunch from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, March. 9 at the Cottage Kitchen at the Charles S. Cock House Museum, located at 400 W. Hopkins Street.

The lunch will feature an appetizer course of scones with lemon curd, strawberry jam and creme fraiche; a main course of Barry's Saucy Carmelized Meatloaf, sautéed long veggies, broccoli salad and gruyere au gratin potatoes. The dessert course will be peach cobbler with Blue Bell ice cream and peach sauce, tres leches cake, frozen peanut butter pie, Hello Dollies, shortcake bars, key lime tarts and chocolate fudge brownies with butterscotch schnapps whipped cream – all for $8 (cash and checks accepted only).

All proceeds benefit the Heritage Association of San Marcos, an organization that supports the preservation of historic buildings and celebrates the culture and traditions that beautify and enrich the San Marcos community.

Cottage Kitchen began more than 40 years ago inside the Charles S. Cock home, a historic stone house that is now listed in the National Register. Charles S. Cock was a pioneer and a former mayor of San Marcos.
