Davis, VFW marks anniversary as partner with Hays Co. Food Bank
Sept. 25 marked the one-year anniversary of Maurice T. Suttles VFW Auxiliary and Laura Davis working with the food bank to feed veterans and the community. VFW Post 3413 Auxiliary worked with Post Commander, Post Members, Veterans’ Service Officers and the Hays County Food Bank to provide a mobile food distribution for Veterans and their families.
Veterans were asked to sign up online to participate, but groceries were also available if they are unable to sign up. On Saturday mornings, the VFW provides a contactless drive-through distribution. Veterans were asked to remain in the car, but with the trunk open so that volunteers (in gloves and masks) could place groceries in their car.
