Dive bar book author writes column for
Local author Anthony Head, who wrote the Amazon best seller, “Texas Dives: Enduring Neighborhood Bars of the Lone Star State” now writes a column for Austin Monthly magazine answering the question, “Where’s the best place to get a drink in Austin?”
After an initial 13-city book tour, Head’s book about Texas dive bars became an Amazon best seller in the Texas Travel Guides category. Since the tour’s completion, Head has been featured in newspapers including the Wall Street Journal and the Dallas Morning News; magazines such as Texas Monthly and Craft Spirits Magazine; and recently appeared in NPR’s “The Texas Standard.”
“The new column at Austin Monthly will help me keep spreading the good word of good drinking joints,” Head said. “And my publisher sold out of the first printing.”
