The Wimberley Players will present the musical comedy “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” opening July 15 and running for four weekends through Aug. 7.

“I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” with book and lyrics by Joe DePietro and music by Jimmy Roberts is a celebration of the mating game that takes on the truths and myths behind ‘the relationship,’ exploring the realms of dating and waiting, love and marriage, and the agonies of in-laws, newborns and family car trips.

The original version of “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” holds the distinction of being the second-longest running off-Broadway musical in history with over 5,000 performances. Since then, new songs with revised lyrics and dialogues have been written to better reflect relationships of present day.

The Wimberley Players cast, who all play multiple roles, includes Ronald Lessane, recently seen in the WP production of “Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol.” Kelly Poehls, Rebecca Woods and Kristin Hardin all make their debut on The Wimberley Players stage. Rebecca Marquardt, who is also new to WP, was most recently seen in the national tour of “Odd Squad LIVE.”

Heading up the creative team is director Milton Zoth, with scenic designer Carroll Dollezol; lighting designer, Hannah Corbett; sound designer, Dylan Byrnes; costume designer, Bridget Farias-Gates; and hair and makeup designer, Bridget Cook.
