Walkers presents 'Inspired by the Title of a Book'

Friday, May 31, 2019

The public is invited to the reception for the new Walkers’ Gallery exhibit, “Inspired by the Title of a Book,” on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. inside the San Marcos Activity Center.

In the spirit of summer fun and the amazing offerings at the San Marcos Public Library, this exhibit celebrates books. While they say, “You can’t judge a book by its cover,” titles can inspire the imagination.

More than 100 artworks now at the Walkers’ Gallery reflect as many books from Eric Carle to Shakespeare, classical titles and beyond — some literally, some whimsically — in a wide range of media and styles.

Art Exhibits at the Walkers’ Gallery are sponsored by the San Marcos Area Arts Council and the City of San Marcos with support from the San Marcos Arts Commission.

The exhibit's artists will be at the reception and discuss thier works. There will also be live music by Ike Eichenberg and light refreshments. The exhibit will be on display through Friday, June 28. And don't miss the opportunity to spend some time at the library this summer, where there is a wide variety of free events for patrons of all ages and interests.
