‘Grand Old Christmas Show’ onstage Sunday
A nostalgic slice of the 1940s will take the stage at the Texas State University Performing Arts Center on Sunday.
The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9 in the Patty Strickel Harrison Theater. A portion of the profits will go to to Habitat for Humanity.
Billed as a “live, one-of-a-kind musical variety show bringing all-time favorite Christmas classics and original slapstick shenanigans.”
An HNH production by Will Hearn, The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show features nationally-touring Americana band Blue Water Highway and some of the best artists and entertainers in Texas, backed by the N-O-E-L Orchestra & Gospel Singers.
The production is performed “within the studio” of a live 1940s radio show and broadcast on the 1225 AM, N-O-E-L Radio network.
Organizers say the show hearkens back to a simpler era and will leave those who experience it with a feeling they haven’t felt in a long time.
