Body found in Buda has been ruled a homicide

A man found dead earlier this week in Buda has been identified, and the Hays County Sheriff’s Office says the death was a homicide.

The body of 36-year-old Brandon Lamont Fotnette of Buda was found on Thursday at approximately 8:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Brandons Way by deputies responding to a call for a welfare check.

Preliminary results from an autopsy performed by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office found the case to be a homicide. However, the HCSO says there is no “public safety concern.”

The investigation is continuing.
