Business owners, entrepreneurs, community leaders, elected officials, corporate representatives, students and more will gather at the Embassy Suites San Marcos Hotel and Conference Center on Thursday for the 43rd Annual Hispanic Business Convention of Texas.

The three-day conference will include an opening reception and welcome, trade show, business-to-business matchmaking, a Latina empowerment luncheon, the annual meeting of the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) and the chairman’s gala and awards dinner. 

Among the topics to be discussed in business and professional development workshops are digital marketing, professional etiquette, active shooter response, government regulations, leadership and public speaking. 

To attend these workshops, members of the public can get a Full Registration that allows full access to the entire convention or a Workshop Pass for $25. This pass will allow holders to attend all workshops, seminars and plenary sessions throughout the convention.

Speakers at the convention include First Lady of Texas Cecilia Abbott, Sen. Donna Campbell, San Marcos Mayor John Thomaides, Texas State University President Denise Trauth, Texas State University Latina/o Studies Minor Director Gloria Martinez-Ramos, Google Digital Coach Vicky Hernandez Sepulveda, Buda Police Chief Bo Kidd, executive coach and leadership development trainer Bridgett McAdams-Krause, global business development consultant and former San Marcos Mayor Daniel Guerrero, and Greater San Marcos Partnership President Adriana Cruz. 

The convention will also include a “Vegas Fiesta” from 7-11 p.m. Friday night. Admission is free, and the evening of games and entertainment is open to all convention attendees and members of the public. The evening will include a live performance by Amanda Solis, who will pay tribute to Selena. 

The Hispanic Business Convention of Texas is hosted by TAMACC and is open to any Hispanic or non-Hispanic business, entrepreneur, student, leader or those interested in introducing their products.
