Fire survivors to speak Tuesday

The office of San Marcos Fire Marshal is sponsoring motivational and fire safety speakers Shawn Simons and Alvaro Llanos Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins.
Simons and Llanos were college roommates who survived a devastating arson fire while living in a residence hall at Seton Hall University in January 2000. They travel throughout the nation to share their message of survival, perseverance and inspiration. See their story online.
The city is sponsoring two sessions:
- Session 1: 10 – 11:30 a.m.
- Session 2: 2– 3:30 p.m.
