Continuing a tradition of more than 20 years, Gary Job Corps students and staff assisted with the bi-annual “Friends of the Library” book sale. The goal of this year’s sale is to raise $1 million for the library’s extension project. More than 4,000 books and 3,000 DVDs were put up for sale. Shown are Gary students Kendrick Walker, Gavin Williams, Brandon Smith, Samuel Cain, Jame Howard, Kahnon Bennett, Brian Little Jr. and Kamuwela Carbonell-Dias; along with staff members Todd Watson and Titus Adeosun; community members Michael Coronado, Brandon Pharris, Charles Turner and Sarah Natal; and Library Director Diane Insley and Outreach Manager Susan Smith.
