Gary Job Corps Center cadets graduate

Sunday, February 3, 2019

Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra, who is also an executive member of the Gary Job Corps Center Community Relations Council, was the featured speaker at the center’s 2019 graduation ceremony. Becerra spoke of the need to continually set goals, the importance of being a good citizen, and commitment to the community. Over 80 trainees graduated from 18 trades, some as double graduates within the construction/manufacturing and health/human services vocations. With more than 200 friends and family members celebrating the occasion, student graduate speakers, Aaliyah Perkins and Caleb Burrell reflected on their time as students and about their plans of the future. Pictured are the graduates as a group, Becerra at the podium and Center Director Patty Lankford and Deputy Director Rafael Marzan presenting a diploma to Burrell as Becerra looks on.
