Gary Job Corps welding class showcases project
The Gary Job Corps welding trainees wanted to do something to showcase the welding department and the Gary Center. They did so by constructing an artistic symbol cut from 3/8 inch plate steel that required skills that welding trainees need to know for employment — including measurements, fabrication, fitting, plasma and welding processes.
Welding is among the many vocations available for the young people to study in addition to acquiring a GED, high school diploma, and driver training.
