Two council races to be finally decided on Tuesday
On Tuesday, San Marcos voters will choose two city council members: either Shane Scott or Mark Rockeymoore for the unexpired Place 4 term, and either Rick Henderson or Jocabed “Joca” Marquez for the Place 5 seat.
As is typical for local runoff elections, early voter turnout has been low — a contrast to the record-setting voter turnout in the November midterm election.
Election Day polling locations will be the Live Oak clinic/health department on Broadway Street for Precincts 110 and 113; the Dunbar Center on Martin Luther King Drive for Precincts 111 and 112; CM Allen Homes on Sturgeon Street for Precinct 120; Stone Brook Seniors on Stagecoach Trail for Precincts 315, 316 and 317; Crockett Elementary on Girard Street for Precincts 318, 330 and 334; Travis Elementary School on Post Road for Precincts 332, 415 and 447; Brookdale (formerly Horizon Bay) on Ranch Road 12 for Precinct 336; and Allenwood Homes on Thorpe Lane for Precincts 413, 414, 416 and 417.
Council will canvass the results of the election and swear in the winners on Dec. 19.
