Annual School Fuel banquet, auction set for Tuesday night

Sunday, May 12, 2019

The Annual School Fuel Banquet/Auction is being held on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, 325 W. McCarty. This year’s live auction will feature eight rounds of golf, a weekend stay in Colorado, a County Estates family membership, EVO season pass for two and tickets to the Mermaid Ball.

The SMART Orchestra will perform as will Big John Mills and the featured speaker will be Karen Mc-Gown, principal at Mendez Elementary School. The silent auction includes jewelry, art, gift baskets and more.

School Fuel, an all-volunteer, non-profit organization has provided a nutritious sack of food for 703 hungry SMCISD students each Friday of the school year. Next year the program will expand to include hungry sixth graders. The cost of providing for one hungry child is about $215 per school year. The community is invited to attend--tickets are $20 at the door. For more information contact Diane Breedlove at 281 910-3103 or email School Fuel at schoolfuel2013@yahoo.com. There is also more information available on School Fuel's website.
