Bluebonnet Lions Club collects eyeglasses for recycling

Want to recycle your old eyeglasses?

The Bluebonnet Lions Club collects old eyeglasses and recycles them for distribution for those in need outside the United States.

Lions around the world collect and donate 30 million pairs of glasses each year.  Two local San Marcos Bluebonnet Lion members, Patti Blackson and Belinda Van Dyke, have collected 730 pairs of glasses for recycling from January to July 2022.  Help us double that number in the next six months. Donation boxes are located at:

• HEB — 641 E Hopkins, at the pharmacy counter
• Sam’s — 1350 Leah Ave., in the optical shop
• San Marcos Vision Center — 901 C Hwy 80
• Vision Works — 651 Barnes Dr #200
• Mariposa — 2600 Hunter Road,  in the activity room
• Eyemart Express — 200 North Interstate 35,  Suite 118
