“Travel is an economic powerhouse,” Mayor Jane Hughson said as she proclaimed May as National Travel and Tourism Month in San Marcos. As part of the proclamation, Hughson said that traveler spending directly generated tax revenues of $23,9 million locally in 2023 and supported 2,500 jobs in San Marcos.
