Eloise Hudson to speak to rotary club about CASA of Central Texas

Sunday, July 18, 2021

Eloise Hudson, Communication Manager for CASA of Central Texas, will speak at the Rotary Club of San Marcos’ meeting on Wednesday.

CASA is the acronym for Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children. CASA of Central Texas advocates for abused and neglected children in the court system by recruiting, training and supporting community volunteers. It helps to locate local volunteers to advocate for children who have been removed from their home while navigating the foster care system. CASA of Central Texas was established in 1985 and supports children and volunteers in Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe and Hays Counties. In 2020, CASA served 600 children and worked with more than 250 volunteers.

Hudson joined CASA of Central Texas 13 years ago. Her role is to get CASA’s message out to the community to help recruit more volunteers and find other ways to support the program. She plans to share an overview of CASA’s services and needs with Rotarians.

The Rotary Club of San Marcos meets every Wednesday at noon at the Holiday Inn and Convention Center at 105 Bintu Drive. The club is 100 years old this year, and is nonprofit, nonreligious and nonpolitical. It exists to do community and international service. Visitors are always welcome at meetings.
