KZSM – What can we do for you?

Sunday, August 4, 2019

Previously we have mentioned how we are always needing help. As our commitment to serving our community grows, so does the need for dedicated volunteers. Not everyone will care to sit in front of a microphone although there are plenty of time slots left to fill. The only previous experience required is having some computer skills. Modern broadcasting, as many other occupational areas, require familiarization with current computer hardware and some software programs. Non-broadcasting volunteers are needed to help maintain computer files, perform some editing, program production, marketing, social media maintenance, and sometimes helping to set up and represent your true community radio station at functions that we produce and host. Age is not an issue, we are happy to help students with internships, we may be considered for community service hours, or help you add something interesting to your resume. Training will be provided, especially in the use of our broadcast and other operating software and the hardware that we use. An abundance of volunteer opportunities is available and in scheduling training and/or volunteer hours we are flexible and are willing to work with your availability.

If you would like to know more, join us at our next volunteer staff meeting at Wake the Dead Coffee House on Wednesday, August 28th. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. Bring your questions, ideas, and suggestions. Find out how you may become a member of your true community radio family!

KZSM is returning to the Kissing Alley in August. Join us as Ace Pepper and the Revs will be providing the music as we celebrate our return. The music will begin at 6 p.m and continue until 9 p.m. Our concerts are always free and family friendly. After the concert, gets the kids home and come back to participate in our very first “Karaoke After Hours in the Kissing Alley.” The fun begins right after the concert and we are planning on being there until midnight. Start practicing now as we understand that there are many talented individuals in our town that are waiting to be “discovered.” Many of your favorite radio hosts will be on hand throughout the evening, so come and meet the faces of the voices you like to listen to.

Of course, Metal mark is still out there hustling to come up with ideas for future concerts. We hope to have some awesome news to share very soon…

KZSM (Just a little bit south of weird) now streaming world-wide on the internet at KZSM.org.
