Moreno announces run for Hays County Commissioners Court

Tennyson Moreno announced Thursday that he is a candidate in the upcoming 2024 election for Hays County Commissioner, Precinct 3.

He is a candidate for the Republican primary scheduled in March 2024. 

According to a press release, Tennyson is a sixth generation Texan, and is a graduate of the Tarrant County College’s Professional Pilot & Flight Science Program. He is currently a licensed pilot while also working as a local political campaign operative.

The press release stated that Tennyson, being from a low-middle class household and a single parent home, 'learned conservative values such as his faith, the value of a dollar, and how to overcome struggles by pulling oneself up by their bootstraps and not handouts.'

The press release stated that he got involved at an early age and volunteers within his church and community.

Tennyson attends Texas State University where he is studying political science and public administration.

During his time at Texas State, Tennyson joined Turning Point USA and serves as the president of the organization on campus.

He is also vice-chair of the Airport Advisory Board for San Marcos Regional Airport, an active volunteer at the Commemorative Air Force, and chairman of the Hays County Young Republicans.

“As your next county commissioner, I look forward to preserving Hays County’s roots while helping it responsibly grow,' Tennyson stated. “I look forward to earning the support of taxpayers in Precinct 3.”

Hays County will hold a Uniform Election on Nov. 7 for constitutional amendments and local jurisdictions.

Thursday, Sept. 14: Election worker training session #1 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Friday, Sept. 15: Election worker training session #2 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Friday, Sept. 22: Absentee ballots (UOCAVA and ballot by mail) sent.

Tuesday, Oct. 3: Election worker training session #3 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Tuesday, Oct. 10: Last day to submit voter registration applications or changes.

Monday, 23 October: first day of Early Voting Friday, 3 November: Last day of Early Voting.
