DOG OF THE WEEK:

ETHEL (52552233)

Ethel is an 8-year-old Pointer mix that is ready to spend her days relaxing on the couch. This low-medium energy pup doesn’t ask for much and is content with just hanging with her people. Ethel is great on leash and likes to take it easy on her walks. She does know some basic commands like “sit” and is willing to learn more with the help of tasty bacon-flavored treats. Help get this lovable senior out of the shelter and into a forever home!

DOG OF THE WEEK:

FRISBEE DAN (53813743)

Frisbee Dan is a 4-year-old Welsh Corgi mix with a super sweet personality. With his short stature and adorable appearance, he's a bundle of joy that lights up any room. Frisbee Dan walks well on a leash, does well in his kennel and has enjoyed meeting other dogs. He is heartworm positive and will need a home that will help him complete his SMRAS-funded treatment.

HOW TO ADOPT THESE PETS:

Both pets are available for adoption at the San Marcos Regional Shelter. In its most recent report, the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter stated that there were 150 dogs and 90 cats available for adoption, as of time of press, with a Clear the Shelter Party and event set for last Saturday.

For all of August, which is Clear the Shelters Month, all readyto- go pets are $10 and include spay/neuter, vet exam, vaccinations, and a microchip.

City officials are encouraging everyone in the community to consider adopting or fostering at this time.

To meet the pets, visit the San Marcos Regional Animal in person from noon–7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from noon–5 p.m. on Saturdays, or online at www. sanmarcostx.gov/adopt to choose a pet and fill out an online adoption application.
