DOG OF THE WEEK: CAPRESE (52541579)

Meet Caprese, the well-mannered 3-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix with a knack for leash manners and walking closely by your side. With a commitment and knack for learning, Caprese is working on crate and potty training, showcasing her dedication to becoming a well-behaved companion. Her gentle nature and willingness to adapt make her a wonderful addition to any home that's ready to offer her the care, love, and guidance she deserves. Stop by the shelter to see this lovely girl!

CAT OF THE WEEK: CARLOS (54149727)

Meet Carlos, the adorable 2-month-old domestic shorthair that will steal your heart. Carlos has spent the last two months in foster care and is finally making his adoption debut this week. Come by to meet Carlos and all his kitten friends up for adoption!

HOW TO ADOPT THESE PETS:

Check to see if there are waivers of fees in place due to the number of pets coming in to the shelter. The shelter was experiencing a Code Red and hopes the community will find homes for these animals. Both pets are available for adoption at the San Marcos Regional Shelter. All ready-to-go pets are normally $22 and include spay/neuter, vet exam, vaccinations, and a microchip.

To meet the pets, visit the San Marcos Regional Animal in person from noon-7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from noon-5 p.m. on Saturdays, or online at www.sanmarcostx.gov/adopt to choose a pet and fill out an online adoption application. Then, give the shelter a call at 512.805.2650 or email animaladoptions@sanmarcostx.gov.
