San Marcos Chamber earns two awards
The 2019 San Marcos Welcome Guide was awarded first place in the Directories/Community Profile category and the Choose San Marcos video series was awarded second place in the Social Media Campaign category at the TCCE Annual Conference in El Paso.
In partnership with the San Marcos Daily Record, The San Marcos Welcome Guide is the official relocation guide of the San Marcos Chamber and a primary resource for new and prospective residents in the region. The publication highlights everything from local business and entertainment to employment and education. It serves as a catalog of information for all residents of the San Marcos community. With its comprehensive look at all things San Marcos, the guide informs residents and visitors about the best and unique attributes San Marcos has to offer.
"Congratulations go out to our chamber for having received such an honor," said Lance Winter, publisher of the San Marcos Daily Record. "We're happy to share in their success having provided support from a great team of professionals: Creative and Project Director Toy Mendez; Data Visuals and Infographics by Colton Ashabranner; Editorial contributions by Rachael Willis, Robin Blackburn, Nick Castillo, Drew King, Toy Mendez, Colton Ashabranner and Bibb Underwood; and photography by: Denise Cathey Andy Heatwole, Christopher Paul Cardoza, Scott Bauer, Gerald Castillo, Toy Mendez, Cameron Felgate and Samantha Brown."
Choose San Marcos is an ongoing high-energy video series highlighting the live, work, play qualities of San Marcos. Featuring Country Music Icon Randy Rogers and over 50 locals, Choose San Marcos expresses our citizens love for the community and all it has to offer. The project was made possible by the San Marcos Industrial Foundation, San Marcos Convention and Visitors Bureau and San Marcos Lions Club. The project was produced by Bring Light & Sound’s founder and Texas State graduate Luke Lashley.
“It is an honor to be recognized by our peers at TCCE for our Welcome Guide and Choose San Marcos project,” said Samantha Brown, vice president of communications at San Marcos Area Chamber. “These projects were both truly a team effort. The staff at the Daily Record and the Bring Light & Sound team took these big ideas and made them possible. These awards are a testament to the creativity, dedication and the team’s willingness to take chances.”
Chambers from across the state of Texas convened on Wednesday, June 19 for the TCCE Media Awards Dinner, where awards honor organizations for exceptional efforts in marketing, communications, and media.
