An aggravated robbery at the San Marcos City Skate Park, 625 E. Hopkins St., and a burglary of the Lazy Daze Smoke Shop, 718 E. Hopkins St., were reported early Sunday morning, resulting in the arrest of three teens.

According to the San Marcos Police Department, officers were dispatched to the City Skate Park at approximately 12:16 a.m. after a victim reported that two Hispanic males wearing hoodies were rummaging through the victim’s vehicle. After interrupting the two men, the victim said an altercation transpired, resulting in one of the subjects pointing a handgun at the victim before the victim fled on foot, officials said.

Suspects Mikael Marin, 17, and Miguel Perez, 19, were then found in possession of a Glock replica pellet gun and taken into custody by SMPD.

Shortly afterwards, at approximately 12:23 a.m., SMPD said that the owner of the Lazy Daze Smoke Shop reported broken windows at the business.

“Video from the smoke shop shows the clothing description of the suspects that matches those of the Aggravated Robbery at the Skate Park,” SMPD said in an email. “A bag containing several items of Lazy Daze paraphernalia and smoke shop items was located behind the activity center where one of the suspects involved in the skate park robbery fled from officers.”

Three suspects, Marin, Perez and Sean Hill, 18, were arrested in connection to the burglary.

Marin was charged with Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon, Aggravated Robbery, Burglary of a Building, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Failure to ID and Tampering with Physical Evidence, according to SMPD.
