Through the cooperation of Community Action, the city of San Marcos and Promise-Land Church, in excess of 100 car seats were distributed to families with children in need. Families needed to register in June during Children’s Awareness Month. Children and families got their seats on July 8 at the Bonham Prekindergarten School.

Texas State hosts farm, food systems conference

Texas State University officials said that author Gary Nabhan will deliver the keynote address for the Small Producers Initiative’s annual Southern Family Farmers & Food Systems Conference, to be held Aug. 6-8 at the San Marcos campus.
