Alvin Seiler
Alvin Seiler of New Braunfels, Texas passed away on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at the age of 81. He was born on Oct. 6, 1936 in Goliad County, Texas to Fred and Elsa Seiler.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1960 and received an honorable discharge in March 1965.
He had several jobs after that and stayed with the carpentry trade for many years working with Bill Raider and Sam Cutts, building several houses with them in San Marcos. In 1988 he bought the Barbarossa Trough and ran it for 30 years before his death.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Elsa Seiler; sisters, Elarine Seiler, Josephine Bartlett and Nellrose Duran; one brother, Roy Seiler; nephew, Steve Seiler and partner of 20 plus years, Ellie.
He is survived by three sisters, Alma Sherrill, Rosalia Autrey and Gladys Duran; one brother, Alfred Seiler; six nephews; one niece and lots of friends.
Alvin’s life will be celebrated in the Pennington Memorial Chapel, at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, with Rev. David Sweet officiating. Final resting place will be at the Weesatche Cemetery in Goliad County, Texas, immediately following the service. All are welcome to attend.
