Collage Making Class

When: October 4, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Where: Front Porch of the San Marcos

Where: Front Porch of the San Marcos Public Library

Who: Collage is the art of creating an image by assembling a range of materials on a two-dimensional surface. Local artist Cathy Sparks will guide you through the process of selecting materials to design a compelling composition that is meaningful to you. This event is IN-PERSON, and will be held on the front porch of the library. The program is limited to five people and requires registration.

Local Homelessness Coalition

When: October 9, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Where: Online program via Zoom hosted by the San Marcos Public Library

Who: The Texas Homelessness Network, the San Marcos Public Library, and the HOME Center of Central Texas are hosting a community workshop for a “Coalition on Homelessness.” With the aim of mapping available assets, we will come together to create friendships, network, and evaluate available services. You can expect interactive education as we discuss how we can better work together to combat homelessness. Registration is required. You will be sent a Zoom link to the online event after registration.

Where: Online program via Zoom hosted by the San Marcos Public Library Who: Aspiring and seasoned writers are invited to come together in a supportive community. We will share our work and goals, and sit together in communal silence as we work on our various writing projects. There will be an opportunity to share at the end, if you'd like. These recurring sessions are great for everybody - from poets, aspiring novelists, folks with writer's block and a big project, to people who need to write more as they work from home. Presented by Celeste Hollister. This online program will be held on Zoom.
