Acelia Russett

Acelia Russett

Sunday, December 30, 2018

Acelia Russett left this world on Dec. 20, 2018, at home in the company of her family, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Born on July 18, 1962, in Monroe, Louisiana, and settling in San Marcos in 2009, Acey began a life of service to her country in the Navy as a land-based sonar technician, then as the wife of a career Air Force officer and proud mother to two children who are currently serving in the military.

She was an avid crafter and gifted artist who loved children, antiquing, and living among the Hill Country oaks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, R. M. and Nellie McKaskle, and brothers James, Robert, and Thomas McKaskle.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years Michael of San Marcos, son Jacobs (Michelle) of San Antonio, and daughter Sarah of Bellbrook, Ohio; as well as brothers Randal, of Austin, Phillip, of San Marcos, and sisters Donnelle, of Austin, and Mary (Rick) Plumlee of Lockhart, and two grandchildren.

The Texas sky will be a little less blue without the reflection from her eyes, but the night sky will be brighter with a new star. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Texas Oncology for their support during her battle, and Texas Home Health and Hospice for her comfort in her final days.

A celebration of her life will be held at Acelia and Michael’s home at 12 noon, on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019.

Arrangements by Pennington Funeral Home, San Marcos, Texas, 512-353-4311.
