Anna Mae Butler Wiede
Anna Mae Butler Wiede of San Marcos, Texas passed away on Dec. 6, 2018, at the age of 88. She was born on Feb. 26, 1930 in Lane, Oklahoma, to Clarance Wesley and Mary Catherine (Glover) Butler.
Her son, Warren Lou Wiede, two sisters, Mary Charline Goodwin and Janice Sue Reeves, and a brother, Billy Gene Butler preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Wiede, Jr. whom she married in August of 1950; son, James Roy Wiede (Carolyn) of San Marcos; daughters, Susan Elaine Patteson (Eugene) of Buda and Ronda Lea Lantz (Ernie) of San Antonio; sister, Katherine Lee Karr; eight grandchildren, Carl Lantz, Kenneth Lantz, Brenden Patteson, Shane Patteson, Kent Patteson, Melissa Wilson, Kayla Linde and Jody Jackson; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Anna Mae graduated from SWTSU in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. At the age of 58 she began her career as a kindergarten teacher in the Blanco ISD. She enjoyed walking, gardening and art. She was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of her life will be held at First Lutheran Church in San Marcos, at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, with Father Tim Bauerkemper officiating. Private family burial.
