Eloisa Guzman

Eloisa Guzman, a resident of San Marcos, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018 at the age of 93. She was born to David and Esther (Gomez) Carrizales in Uhland, Texas on Oct. 5, 1924. She married Sipriano Guzman on Aug. 10, 1943 in Lockhart, Texas and together they had five wonderful children. Eloisa worked as a cook for Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) for 26 years prior to her retirement.

Eloisa is preceded in death by her husband, Sipriano Guzman; her parents, David and Esther (Gomez) Carrizales; her sister Alicia Garcia, her sister Rena Ramirez; her brother Ismael Carrizalez; and her daughter-in-law Gloria Guzman. 

Eloisa is survived by her daughter Irma G. Jasso and her husband, Joel, of San Marcos; her daughter Amelia Perez and her husband, Cesar, of San Marcos; her son Adel Guzman and his wife, Rosemary, of Manchca, Texas; her son Oscar Guzman and his wife, Petra, of San Marcos; and her son James Guzman of San Marcos. She is also survived by her brothers Pedero Carrizales, Lupe Carrizales, and Ramiro Carrizales, all of Austin, Texas.

Eloisa’s family will receive friends at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018 from 4 through 9 p.m., with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Mass will be held on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Martindale, Texas.
