Joyce Ilene Glore, 89, passed away July 2, 2018 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Joyce was born in Toledo, Ohio on Nov. 10, 1929 to Edgar and Aileen Luttrell. She is proceeded in death by her parents, her two brothers, Ed and Kenneth Luttrell, husband Bob Glore and her son Tom Glore. Joyce is survived by her daughter Rebecca Glore-Landrum of Carlsbad, New Mexico, one sister, Shirley Ann Pierce, three grandchildren, Ryan Glore, Amanda Glore and Rick Frazier, and three great grandchildren Ryan Xander Glore, Delilah and Cora Frazier.

Joyce was born in Toledo, Ohio but spent most of her years growing up in Galesburg, Illinois. After two years at Western Illinois University, she married Bob Glore in 1949. While Bob was serving in the Air Force, they lived in San Angelo, Waco and Laredo, Texas. They also were stationed at Tucson, Arizona and Selma, Alabama. Their most interesting assignment was in the Panama Canal Zone. While Joyce was there, she resumed her education at the Canal Zone College. She received her B.S. Degree from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma.

When Bob retired from the Air Force in 1964, they settled in San Marcos, Texas. Joyce taught school in San Marcos for 15 years. Joyce loved playing bridge, collecting paper weights and volunteering for different organizations. She traveled to 46 of the 50 states and several trips outside the United States. She will be missed by many friends and former students. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
