Patricia J. Ladd

Patricia J. Ladd, a resident of San Marcos, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 at the age of 79.

Patricia was born in Winter Haven, Florida on Aug. 13, 1939. She married Charles Franklin Ladd on May 11, 1973. They moved to Longview, Texas, where Patricia worked as a bookkeeper for Southwest Steel Casting Company for several years.

In July of 1987, Patricia and Charles moved to Edinburg, Texas, to be near her brother Kenneth Smith and wife Carolyn. She worked for several different companies in the years they lived there. In 2011, Kenneth, Carolyn and Patricia moved to the San Marcos area where she became a member of the First Baptist Church.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, brothers Robert “Bob” Smith and Kenneth Smith, sister Mary Tripp and nephew Chris Tripp and his wife Lora and two grand-nephews. She is also survived by two nieces, Jennifer Lynn Smith and Deborah Smith Frazier, and sister-in-law Carolyn Smith.

Patricia was a devout Christian and wrote numerous poems giving glory to God. She will be buried in Longview next to her husband Charles. There will be no local service.
