Romanita Saenz Quintanilla

Romanita Saenz Quintanilla passed from this life into the loving arms of Our Savior Jesus Christ. She went to sleep here on Earth and woke up in Heaven. ALL GLORY, PRAISE, AND HONOR TO OUR FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT. Amen.

She married Manuel Quintanilla in Palito Blanco, Texas on May 10th (Mother’s Day) 1959. They lived their lives in Corpus Christi and after his retirement, they moved to San Marcos, Texas. They celebrated 59 years of a beautiful marriage and in the process producing a beautiful family.

They have three children: Frank (Margaret) Quintanilla, Elizabeth (Liz Q) Gonzalez, and Manuel E. Quintanilla. They have 10 grandchildren: Andy (Crystal) Gonzalez, Dennette (Armando) Berrios, Orlando Gonzalez, Frank Quintanilla, Elaine (Danny Villegas) Quintanilla, Natalie Gonzalez, Reggie (Melanie) Gonzalez, Anthony (Britney) Aguilar, Raven (Zach) Espinoza, and Manuel E. Quintanilla, Jr. They have seven great-grandchildren: Mia Paramo, Alaina Lee, Jonah Quintanilla, Romeo Berrios, Aiden Ramirez, Christian Gonzalez and Trinity Gonzalez.

Frank, our oldest son, was already residing in San Marcos, so our move here was easy. Eventually, our daughter, Elizabeth, her family and our youngest son, Manuel and his family moved to San Marcos. We’ve been residing here since 1991.

With the family established in San Marcos, we would meet and make friends on a daily basis. Romanita suffered from Alzheimer’s for about 12 years. In that process she lost the ability to communicate, but somehow showed that she knew who we were.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 27, 2018, at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos.
