Suzanne Villarico

Suzanne Villarico

Sunday, November 18, 2018

Suzanne Villarico, 78, of San Marcos, Texas was surrounded by family when she passed away on Nov. 6, 2018. She was born March 16, 1940 in Central Falls, Rhode Island to Omer Hector and Germaine (Bouvier) Massé.

In her youth, Suzanne was an ingénue in summer stock theatre, sharing the stage with the likes of James Franciscus and Eva Marie Saint who gave her the sage advice to “always follow your heart.” She took this to heart and married the love of her life, Remigio Villarico.

She was a queen of kindness and conviction. When her children left home for college and careers, she started Choose Life Homes and filled her empty nest with pregnant unwed girls who had nowhere to go.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and sister until the very end. Similarly, she, along with her husband, was devoted to the church, even supporting a young man through the seminary.

She played tennis, enjoyed horseback riding and travelling, and was an avid reader.

Her parents and her husband, Remigio Villarico preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Gilbert Villarico (and wife, Cecilia) of Lockhart; stepson, Santos Villarico (and wife, Anna) of Arizona; three daughters, Janice Villarico of Austin, Joy Jungers (and husband, Mark) of Martindale and Pauline Villarico of San Marcos; stepdaughter, Lolly Balajo (and husband, Sonny) of the Philippines; brother, Paul Massé of Rhode Island; sister, Constance Ruggieri of New Hampshire; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her constant companion, her dog, Prince.

Family will receive friends at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in San Marcos, at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Church Cemetery in Rockne, Texas. The Most Reverend Bishop Mario Avilés will officiate the Funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to a charity dear to your own heart.

Arrangements by Pennington Funeral Home, San Marcos,Texas, 512-353-4311.
