Twyla Dawn Burleson

Twyla Dawn Burleson of San Marcos, Texas, loving mother, grandmother and sister passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at the age of 47. Born on Oct. 27, 1970 in San Marcos, Texas, she was the daughter of William Don and Betty Jo (Carson) Burleson.

Her parents preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Dustin A. McMillan (Eboni S.) of Virginia, and Darrein L. Moore and fiancé, Courtney Campbell of Kentucky; brother, Ricky Smith (Melba) of San Marcos; two sisters, Linda Harper Williams and Alma Burleson both of San Marcos; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She graduated from San Marcos High School in1989 and worked for HEB for ten years. She later graduated from Phoenix University with a degree in Medical Administration in 2014, and was currently working with Chartwells as a Barista.

Twyla enjoyed reading, loved anything to do with sci-fi, comics, anime, reading and writing poetry. She was also an avid collector of mythical memorabilia. Twyla was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered forever.

There will be a Wake at Pennington Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 29, 2018 and Twyla’s life will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Saturday, June 30, 2018, in the Pennington Memorial Chapel.
